II Jamboree Marks Formal Launch of 2002 Vote Canvassing Campaign

The official launch of this year's 'Institutional Investor vote canvassing campaign' kicked off in New York last week, with the II Jamboree.

The day was well attended with a line-up including David DiPietro (Head of NA Equities), Aaron Liberman (Head of NA Sales), Margaret Jeffrey (Head of Analyst Marketing), Terry Gardner (Associate Director for NA Research) and David Polak (Global Sales). The guest speaker was Denise Murrell from Institutional Investor and the event concluded with a sales panel discussing methods that had proved successful for Equities in last years highly successful campaign.

In order to help sales 'ask for the vote' Research Marketing together with Strategic Research and Planning Group printed 3700 account reviews, including customized reviews for 235 accounts, which highlighted our analysts' research and stock calls. The reviews also detailed analyst marketing meetings, corporate meetings and conference attendance.

This is the second year that the Bank has waged such a campaign. Last year's proved highly successful with Deutsche Bank making an exceptionally strong showing across all categories:

  • Deutsche Bank increased its overall ranking from 14 to 9 based on the number of top ranked analysts
___- 16 top ranked analysts (up from 4 in 2000)
___- Share of weighted votes doubled from 2% to 4%
  • Deutsche Bank's overall vote increase was among the highest of the top-ranked firms
  • Deutsche Bank increased its rankings in every region and within every II weight (AUM) band
  • Deutsche Bank advanced its rankings in nearly all of the 85 survey sectors
  • Deutsche Bank had the strongest combination of 1st-place votes from the largest voting institutions among the Top 10 firms.

Ballots go out to clients at the end of April and have to be submitted by mid-June.
